Stick Fighters cont :

Stick fighters is finally almost done.

Its a two player fighting game where the characters are stick figures. Both players have a health bar to moniter the players health. The health goes down when they are punched or kicked by the other player. First person to finish the health of the other wins.

Player one uses the arrow keys where up arrow is to punch and the down arrow is to kick.

Player 2 uses W ASD where w is to punch and s is to kick and a and d are left and right.

The next step is build controllers. I plan to make some stick figures out of foam core and then put some wiring through the inside so that the arms and legs are groung and the upper body and head are the punch and kick buttons.

Algorithm:

step 1 – User has to register online by filling out a survey

step 2 – store the information in a database and assign the user a number according to survey

step 3- according to the number given to the user they will be given a link to download the app and install in the mobile device

step 4- user runs the application at a location.

step 5- the application turns bluetooth on and scouts the location with other people running the application with the same number. That is suppose the user is given a number 2 , then the app send out the number 2 and also look for the number 2 from other devices. The device then gets the bluetooth id and then scans the database on the web for a match and if it is made it will send back the matched users to the application.

step6- when a match is made it gives the user all the users with the same number and gives u a link for their picture stored in the database

step7- if the user likes the recieved picture they can approach the other person and make friends

Stick Fighters :

Its a simple fun game made even more fun as you control the kicks and punches by using your stick figure to hit the other stick figure. The actions are controlled by the contact between the two stick figures.

Stick fighters is a flash game which makes use of real stick figures to kick and punch. There are two stick figures fighting each other. Each player has a real wooden stick figure which is embedded with switches/ buttons which are activated by contact from the other stick figure. That is if the hand of one stick figure comes in contact with the head of the other figure it is considered a punch. There is also a health bar to keep in record who wins and loses.

Our top 5 for the final product/service:

Laura:

• Gaming contraption with 3 options: 1) whack-a-mole type game where a camera uses a picture of what you are cleaning and a screen that superimposes things you have to wipe/scrub to get rid of 2) same camera/screen setup but it covers the surface with colored dots and you get more points for the more dots of the same color you wipe out in a row 3) calculates how far you’ve moved (in particular, how far you’ve vacuumed) and converts it into distance which shows on the screen how far around the world that means you’ve traveled. For 1&2, each time you finish a surface, the devise encourages you to move on to the next “level” which means the next surface. {Distraction; Encourage Small Steps; Feel Easier; Mileage; Rewards/Accomplishment; Visual Satisfaction}

• Attachment for cleaning device (duster, scrubber) that senses the direction it is being moved in and creates music that changes tone/pitch as the direction changes and tempo as the speed changes. Has a part of it that reaches to the bottom of the cleaning device and which must be in contact with a surface for the thing to work IE it doesn’t work if you just wave it around in the air. Calculates how many calories you’ve burned. {Distraction; Encourage Small Steps; Mileage; Rewards/Accomplishment}

• Social networking site that begins with a service that comes to the home to help you divide your cleaning up into small tasks ranging from 5 minutes to half an hour in duration. Then, when you are planning on cleaning, you go to the site and say that you have a certain amount of time to clean during a particular time range and the system searches for someone else who is also available to clean at that time. There are then 4 options for interacting with your “cleaning buddy” 1) you can set up a time to meet in person and help each other clean 2) you clean your own places at the same time and provide encouragement and talk to each other to distract each other while cleaning 3) if you both have the gaming contraption, you compete head-to-head by playing the same games as each other 4) you can share before and after cleaning pictures, cleaning tips, and general encouragement. {Distraction; Encourage Small Steps; Feel Easier; For Others; Mileage; Rewards/Accomplishment; Visual Satisfaction}

• Cleaning tools that hide in plain sight either by attaching discretely to the area they are meant to clean or by looking like something else entirely so that they can be left out in the open for easy access. {Convenience; Encourage Small Steps; Mileage}

• A button which when pressed after cleaning gives out a “ting” sound which is played in commercials when something is sparkling or clean. {Rewards/Accomplishment; Encouragement}

Sanjay:

• Duster that makes music as it is moved around while in contact with a surface.

• Scrubber that calculates how many calories you’re burning as you clean, plays music in the tempo of your movements.

A cleaning cube that plays different tunes(or pitch) when moving to different direction (similar to Laura’s idea)

• Social network for motivating each other to clean. Share before and after pictures with each other. Have cleaning parties for group cleaning. Share cleaning tips and product advice.

• Game that involves clearing a board of dots in particular patterns where the board is in the shape of the surface being cleaned and clearing the board (cleaning the whole surface) lets you level-up. The next level is the next area you clean

Sponge with a camera on the sponge side and a screen on the other side so it makes it an augmented reality game where you see superimposed things on the screen and u have to wipe it to win.

Vacuum which records how much you have vacuumed and converts it into distance. Kind of like Nike + but instead of a running it’s vacuuming. It then connects to a social network where you can monitor how much distance you have traveled compared to others

Cleaning buddy service to hook people up to clean at the same time and talk to each other and support each other. (Like some diets and other self-help things do.)

Aram:

Roomba-like(doesn’t necessarily be exact roomba) wireless, clean-as-it-moves contraptions consists of a set of control screen which shows the path that machine moves. Users have controls to re-route it in case it is moving to certain area that users don’t want it to be.(i.e: a spot that still has some ‘mess’ on ) Possible control mean would be joystick, remote control buttons and etc. If we assume that most users own their computer, this could be a software that shows a little screen on the corner of desktop view just like messenger pop-up.

  • My personal pick – Sanjay’s nike plus-ish idea.
  • My personal pick #2- Laura’s “Mom’s gonna see(check) your room” idea
  • Contraptions with gadgets(mp3, iPod, and etc) attached. Possibly has built-in speakers or headphone jack – listening music or watching small video while cleaningUser will have freedom to increase volume ONLY if certain amount of space was cleaned measured by some kind of sensor
  • New idea – A contraption that swallow coins like laundry machine, game machine, slot machine do. People should insert a coin(quarter…) to their cleaning contraption to activate it. Inside of the machine, coins get accumulated until certain level that prevents users to use it any more, all coins should be removed to keep using the machine, however, the coin container is located ‘behind’ the bag so you should clean it first….
  • OR, you feed the coin to machine, but you could insert only ‘one’ coin at a time once you turned it on( turning it off will be considered one cycle is over). and more coin gives you more power or rpm or…better performance of the machine. as a result, the less you use the machine, you won’t get enough ‘power’ to use it as cleaner.

    I Might Like You :

    This is our final project idea for mobile media. Its a social networking mobile application where people sign up initially and according to the survey filled out you meet people with the same interests. This social networking tool is also proximity based. Once the application is turned on say in a bar the user is alerted of the people they might like. A list of profiles will be given to the user and they have to choice to accept or not. Once accepted the chosen one’s mobile will vibrate giving them an indication there might be someone they like in the bar.

    Tech possibilities:

    • php to make the survey and once filled out it has to be stored in a database and accessed by the application
    • Mobile Processing to access bluetooth and make the phone vibrate and also use Pcontainer to make a simple GUI for the app.
    • Flash lite with flyer to access bluetooth and python. Can flash make the phone vibrate? (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/devices/articles/flyer.html)
    • How does flash lite or mobile procesing communicate with php?
    • Straight up python?

    Final Ideas:

    Group Name: Gucci Bags
    Group Members: Jain, Andrea, Sanjay

    1. Porn (Jain ONLYnot Sanjay or Andrea i dont know wats in dis girls head, i am totally against this idea and kind of disgusted, what will my parents think?)(fyi she had like 17 porn ideas for the mobile)

    2. Mobile Friend (Jain) – friends put messages into a depository. When you need “cheering up”, you can access a message. Messages are delivered randomly. You don’t know which came from who. “like talking to your phone”.

    3. Treasure Hunt (Sanjay) – Location based clues. Win a ringtone.

    4. Numbers (Ang?) – objects, places, etc. are assigned a number. Number sticker are recognizable and can be printed off the corresponding site. Users can input data about each item, thus creating an editorial rating system or just history about a place.

    5. You need friends (”friends”)- users answer survey questions. When good match is nearby, you are alerted.
